Default Pasting in visible cells only

I have a list that I would like to copy and paste into a spreadsheet that is
filtered. when I do this, some of the data goes into the hidden rows. Is
there a way to "paste" to visible cells only? I can't seem to do it with the
"select visible cells" function.
Thanks!

Can you sort your data so that the visible rows are grouped together. Then you
could paste to that nice contiguous range.
