I WORK WITH A HUGE SPEADSHEET THAT I HAVE TO MAKE FROM A 300,000 LINE TEXT
FILE. WILL BE GLAD WHEN OFFICE 2007 GETS OUT!! BUT MY QUESTION IS THAT SOME
OF MY COLUMNS COME THROUGH THE TEXT FILE AS "20000" AND I HAVE TO CONVERT
THEM TO 200.00 . IS THERE A WAY TO DO IT IN THE Same cell?? Now i have to
use a formula in a new column. thanks for any help.

Probably not information to go on, but if ALL values in this column are
100 times too high then put 100 in a cell, copy it and then select the
column - now do edit paste special, and use the divide by option. IF
the rules are more complex than this, then a macro could be used

I usually just divide by 100.

Type 100 in an unused cell, then copy, highlight the column you want to
change, and paste special, click on divide

Then simply format the column for decimal places.
