Default Sheet-to-sheet auto-entries of text

In setting up a multi-sheet workbook I haven't been able to find the function
(if there is one) that allows me to enter text or a character string in a
cell on sheet 1 (for example) and automatically copies that entry to another
cell on sheet 2. This is easy to do with data entries, but excapes me when it
comes to text entries. Help, please!
Oh, yes. I'm using Excel 2000.
