Adding several cells and then subtracting several cell from that total, and
showing the result in another cell?

=SUM(K1:K3)-SUM(K7:K9)

Put the above formula in "another cell".

Add's cells K1:K3 and then subtracts from that total the sum of cells K7:K9.

Assuming cells with numbers are A1:A10

in B1 enter =SUM(A1:A10)-SUM(A2,A5,A6,A9)
