Default IF Function

I'm working on time schedule worksheet. I would like to subtract 30 minutes
if the hours for that day is 6 or greater. then I would like to subtract 60
minutes if the hours for that is 8 or greater. How do I do this in one cell
with formula in to calculate the total time? Can it be done with the "IF"
function? Thanks
