Default OS Version impact on Excel functionality

Hi all

I am wondering if the version of the operating system (say windows 2000 vs
Windows XP) has any impact on the functionality of a given excel version.

I'm talking about general excel functionality, not macros or other vba
applications.

Thanks for any insights you can provide.
