Default Protection in Excel via email

Hello,

I have trouble using protection funcitons in Excel. I added Allow users to
edit ranges on col. D. Then, Protect worksheet. After this, I attached a copy
of the file and emailed to my client. However, while i opened, it doesn't
allow me to edit all the cells, where, I was supposed to edit col. D only!!

How can i have all the protections reserved as is after email?
Pls help. Thx lot!
