Default Email Addresses in a spreadsheet

spreadsheet column contains email addresses, which change color as soon as I
finish.. if I try to click on the cell to edit it.. it thinks I want to send
mail to that address and opens my email program..

very frustrating and can't find any way to turn this off..
help!

move mouse on the cell, right click mouse and select "cancel
hyperlink". It's OK.

Actually if you are going to edit the cell you would be best doing it
from the Edit hyperlink where you see everything if they are object hyperlinks,
which can be invoked by Ctrl+K if you are already at the cell...

If you want to select the cell for other reason and not take the hyperlink, there
are several things you can do
click, wait a second then release
select an adjacent cell then arrow into to cell

Avoiding taking the hyperlink when selecting a cell (#avoiding)

If you want remove hyperlinks with a macro, directions on same page.
