Default Trying to sum the amount of principal paid for X number of paymen.

I am trying to sum the amount of principal paid for X number of payments in
an amortization schedule.

Take a look at the CUMPRINC() function in the Analysis Toolpak Add-in
(Tools/Add-ins...)
