I am trying to do a find and replace on a large number of long formulas that
I have created, but I get an error message "formula is too long" |

I'm guessing your question is: Why is that happening?
It seems like the "old text" is being replaced by longer text that causes the number of characters to exceed Excel's limit for formulas (1,024 chars if I recall correctly). The formula sizes need to be reduced.
