Default changing to two place decimal

Hi Debbie,
Only accountants are happy with this choice
Tools, Options, Edit, Fixed decimal places: 2
after which you will notice the word FIX in the last box on the Status Bar
http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/statusbar.htm

and I understand that Excel 2003 does not allow you to override by typing a period
if you want a whole dollar amount. without typing 00

Actually there are many requests for turning off the option that people don't
know about or how it got turned on. It is fairly sneaking because you may go
for several hours after changing it to notice the effects.
