Default Help with formula

I have 3 columns that contain accounts from my chart of accounts (different
departments side by side).

Next to each amount is the dollar amount (balance) for that account. The
accounts are in the following format 5470-1110 where the first four digits
are the natural account ie supplies or salaries etc.

If these accounts are in columns A,C,and E is there a formula I can use in
column G to return the value of all the A,C, and E columns based on the
first four digits?

In other words total all the 5470's total all the 5471's remembering that
all the accounts also have a hyphen and four trailing digits and are not in
the same rows.

A B C
D E F G

Account Amount Account Amount
Account Amount Formula

5470-1110 100 5471-1120 150
5473-1130 200 Total all the 5471's here = 250
5471-1110 100 5472-1120 150
5474-1130 200
5472-1110 100 5473-1120 150
5475-1130 200
