Default unable to edit any of my workbooks

All of the sudden I am not able to do anything in any of my workbooks. I
went to where "read only" is and the box is not checked. The "archived" box
is checked, but I am unable to change anything in that area. I have tried
uninstalling & reinstalling Microsoft Office xp & it stays the same.

Where are you trying to open the files from.....Network, HardDrive,
where?.........try to open one of them with another computer.....copy to
floppy or JumpDrive and transfer or go after it from the network, wherever
it is......what exactly does "unable to change anything in that area"
mean?.......post back with more info...
