Default Matrix in cells

Hi,
Is there a way to obtain a matrix in a cell ?
A B C
1 1 5 9
2 2 6 10
3 3 7 11

One way (that doesn't work ....)
formula in D1 {= A1:C3} that display as result: 1 (contain in A1)
And my goal is to have in E1 the result: 10
with a formula in E1 like =index(D1;2;3)

Thanks

Gilles P
