Default Formula to retrieve range of dates from a worksheet to calculate d

How can I extract a specific range of dates from a worksheet that holds a
year's worth of data, and use this range, say 7 days or 30 days, to calculate
the categories associated with each date, i.e. DATA RANGE: 1/1/05- 1/30/05,
COLORS: Red, Blue, Green. In this example, I am looking for the result to
yeild the amount of reds, blues and greens over the past 30 days.

I would like generate this information depending on a range of 7 or 30
calendar days.

Thanks in advance!!!
