Default Sorting data while the shading stays the same

I downloaded the Job Search template from the Office Website. I have 50
entries. the first line is white anda the 2nd is gray and the third is
white.......I am trying to sort it and check for duplicate entries, When I
sort it the row shading gets moved to. How do i keep the shading in the same
row and just sort the text.
