Default Position of cursor when protected file is opened

I decided to reword an earlier question.

I would like to choose which cell appears selected when a protected
worksheet is opened. (some cells are unlocked for data entry)

Apparently the default is the first unlocked cell...but I have good reasons
why I need to change this.

Do you Excel whizzes out there know of a way to do this?

THANKS in advance!

Stilla, here is one way, if macro's are enabled

Private Sub Workbook_Open()
Sheets("Sheet1").Select
Range("D4").Select
End Sub

To put in this macro, from your workbook right-click the workbook's icon and
pick View Code. This icon is to the left of the "File" menu this will open
the VBA editor, in Project Explorer double click on thisworkbook, under your
workbook name, if you don't see it press CTRL + r to open the Project
Explorer, then paste the code in the window that opens on the right hand
side, press Alt and Q to close this window and go back to your workbook, now
this will run every time you open the workbook. If you are using excel 2000
or newer you may have to change the macro security settings to get the macro
to run. To change the security settings go to tools, macro, security,
security level and set it to medium

Thanks Paul.. I'll try that.

So, if I were to send this file somewhere for people to use, I'd have to
attach the macro to the file itself, right? There's no way around that.
(I'm trying to avoid sending file with embedded macros)

Thanks again

The cursor will remain in the same position as when the file was saved,
the previous comment was true in relation to having a macro initiate to
place the cursor in your desired cell when the file is opened.
