Default COUNTIF function when 2 conditions exist?

Using EXCEL 2000, I need the COUNTIF function when I want 2 conditions in
separate columns to be counted.

=SUMPRODUCT(--(A2:A50=cond1),--(B2:B50=cond2),C2:C50)
