![]() Hi, I am a teacher and trying to finally get rid off the dreaded mark/attendance book by moving my recording proceedure to Excel. I really really want to be able to set-up some form of validation that allows me to select from several symbols to put against the pupils ie. a tick if on time, diamond if late or cross if absent. However, my validation list is not showing the symbol, but a strange letter for example the tick is shown as a u with dots above it. I would love to know how I could get my symbols to display in the drop-down validation list, please could someone put me out of my misery? I did think about taking the route of using say 'P' for present, 'L' for late and 'A' for absent and then use conditional formatting to change the font to Windings or similar to display the correspoding symbol. But you can't change fonts with conditional formatting. Does anyone know what I could do? Many thanks, Mark. -- mevetts ------------------------------------------------------------------------ mevetts's Profile: http://www.excelforum.com/member.php...o&userid=29130 View this thread: http://www.excelforum.com/showthread...hreadid=488499 |
