I don't think you can turn off the automatic GetPivotData entry, but you can
try this: Instead of selecting the pivot table cell to be used in your formula, type in the cell address. For example, if you try to use the pivot table value at cell B10 by selecting it, Excel will build something like this: =GETPIVOTDATA("Amount",$A$1,"Name","Part 1") But, if you just type =B10...you'll still get the value in that cell.
