Default Is there a function?

I am using Excel 2003

I have two tabs in my file.

Tab 1 has account numbers in column A; in column C I want to put the cost to
date

The cost to date is in Tab 2, the same account number is in column A and the
cost is in column O. The account number is not in the same row in Col A on
both Tabs. I am looking for a function that will look at Tab1/ColA and then
try and find the same account number in Tab2/ColA, when it does then put the
value on Tab2/ColO in Tab1/ColC. The data in Tab2 is from an ODBC and can be
upto 30 rows of data.

I hope the above is clear but if not I am sure I will be asked to clarify.

Thanks in advance.
