I have a column of numbers in a chart. These numbers were derived by a
formula. Now I want to total the column but it appears I cannot since they were derived by a formula. How can I do this? |

Hi!
Explain: "I want to total the column but it appears I cannot " What does that mean? You get an incorrect result? No result? An error? Also, "These numbers were derived by a formula." Post the formula. Could be the results of the formula are TEXT values in which case a SUM of those values would fail. Biff "Samantha" wrote in message ... I have a column of numbers in a chart. As Biff said, the numbers could be text ..
Assuming the col of numbers is in A1:A10 Put in say, the formula bar for A11: =SUM(A1:A10+0) Then array-enter the formula by pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER, instead of just pressing ENTER The "+0" is one way of coercing text numbers, if any, within A1:A10 into real numbers -- Rgds Max xl 97 --- Singapore, GMT+8 xdemechanik http://savefile.com/projects/236895 -- "Samantha" wrote in message ...
