Default Dissappearing formula

Hello,

Can anyone assist please? I'm running XP Prof with Excel 2002. Several
formulas change into the product, the calculation is perfomed and the cell is
then left only with the result. The formula's are fairly simple. i.e =$W$4
This happens on only a few cells across the worksheet, the workbook contains
several sheets. I've cleared all formats, even copy and pasting working
formulas into the 'faulty' cells.

Thanks in advance

For this to happen, the cell is being copied and then paste/special as value
back into the cell. Look for macros in either modules, this workbook, or
worksheet code.
