Default need to save values from a function before it changes

I have a list of functions calculating values down a column as the rows
increase. I must have the previous function clear when the next function
produces a value. The vaue calculated from the function is save in the next
column. When the previous function clears == the value clears with it.
However, I need those values. How can I lock and save those values ? Can
someone help please. Thank you. Using Excel 2003.
