When I enter an equation in c1 such as: =product(a1,b1), when a1 is 1000 and
b1 is .10, the answer in c1 should be 100, but it comes out to 102.04. Why? please help. Thank you, Kat |

Quite possibly because B1 is actually 0.10204 but is set to display only 2
decimal places. -- Vasant "Kat and the Calculator" wrote in message ... When I enter an equation in c1 such as: =product(a1,b1), when a1 is 1000 and b1 is .10, the answer in c1 should be 100, but it comes out to 102.04. Why? please help. Thank you, Kat |

Hi!
Are the values in either A1 or B1 calculated? I suspect a rounding issue where the displayed value is not the true underlying value.. Try this and see what you get: =PRODUCT(ROUND(A1,0),ROUND(B1,2)) Biff "Kat and the Calculator" wrote in message ...
