Default Database type formula

I've set up a spreadsheet to hold my contact list. I have all addresses on
one sheet and I would like to set up a formula to copy the addresses of say
just the contacts who are family to another sheet and so on for each of the
categories that they fit into. This way I don't have to copy them everytime
that I add one to the list, it'll happen automatically.

So what I need is a formula that goes something like this.
=IF(sheet1!A:A="family", copy row to sheet2, do nothing)

Thanks for any help you can give me.
