Default Software to create color coded maps from excel?

I'm looking for software that enables me to use my existing data in an excel
spreadsheet, and from excel launch an application that creates a thematic map
with zip codes that are color coded. There are a few I've found, but they
don't work straight from excel and/or I have to draw the zip codes manually.

I was able to find a product called The Town(tm). Has anyone heard of it?
They have a video of how it works online.

Thanks
