can anyone give me the answer to the above? I have an employee census which
I need to figure out the average age of 200 employees. The dates of borth are shown as month, date and year................. |

To just extract the year they were born use =YEAR("08/14/1951")

I tried that, got the date of 5/14/1905????

thanks Ron, that worked. But when I copy the formula down the column, it's
not picking up the new dates of birth, only the original. Tried using F4, but that doesn't work on this formula for some reason.............. any hints?
