Default Sum func. is adding cells not in specified range

the function is simple
=Sum(B5:B22)
when ever I type data in to cells B23 or B24 the formula changes to
=Sum(B5:B23) or =Sum(B5:B24). What's going on with this thing

Hi,


To turn this off:

On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Edit tab.
Do one of the following:
Deselect the Extend list formats and formulas check box.
