Pivot Table

I am trying to do a pivot table using data from 2 worksheets/tabs in a
spreadsheet. I am using Excel 2000

I have about 75000 lines of data which I have split onto two
worksheets/tabs. The column headings are identical in both worksheets/tabs.

I tried a range of sheet1!$A$1..$G$40000;sheet2!A$1..$G$35000 but I get
"reference is not valid"

and you'll have more flexibility in creating the pivot table.
