I do a lot of my spreadsheet work using the feet and inches, for the
construction industry. Does anyone know of an easy way to set or format the cells to deal with this? |

There is not an easy way since those measurements are not very logical, this
might however be of interest http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel....htm#carpentry Regards, Peo Sjoblom "MarcoPolo" wrote: I do a lot of my spreadsheet work using the feet and inches, for the construction industry. Does anyone know of an easy way to set or format the cells to deal with this? |

I guess I didn't realize just how difficult it would be. I just need to be
able to present a format and sort it accordingly without making a big deal out of it. right now I need to use multiple columns. Guess that the best I can do. muliple columns are best esp if you use feet inches and fractions of an
inch...the dollarde and dollarfr work ok if you use only two of the three units.Another way is to do all calcs in inches and fractions and convert back to feet etc at the end -- paul remove nospam for email addy!
