Default subtracting hours and minutes

Hi all,
I have a value in A1 of 300:42 which represents 300 hrs and 42 mins.
B1 contains 50.10 which also represents 50 hrs and 10 mins even though the
separator is a decimal point and not a colon.
What is the best way subtract B1 from A1 to return a value of 250:32?

Thanks in advance
Dave

Default

One way

=A1-(INT(A2)/24+MOD(A2,1)/14.4)

format result as [hh]:mm:ss
