Default Ticks or Crosses

Hi,

I want to be able to get a grid where, in each individual cell, the user can
select only a tick or a cross - i.e. from the "Wingdings" font, characters
251 and 252.

How do I get Data Validation to allow me to do this? (i.e. so that the drop
down list for each cell displays only a cross or a tick?)

Many Thanks,

Gary T

Format the cells as Windings 2 and then use values of O and P in the DV.

1) I set up a column with the TICK or CROSS and formatted to WINGDINGS.
2) Format the column for the dropdown list to WINGDINGS.
3) Select DATA - VALIDATION
4) Settings : LIST SOURCE: Data entered in (1) above with IN CELL
DROPDOWN.
5) The drop down list showed something like ü or û which are the values for
characters 251 and 252 in Times New Roman (and maybe others). That's the
only issue I see. Maybe someone can help with that.
