Default IF function?

Can the IF function be used to extract cells which contain certain formats.
I have 'colour-coded' values and want to extract them by their colour.

Many thanks

Nothing built in, however there is a way of using cell colors
for a possible solution see:

ASAP Utilities has a function to select cells based on formatting
ASAP Utilities, Select, Conditional Cell Select, Select Based on Formatting.

I see this post was a while ago, but maybe it will help someone else in the
future.
