Default how do I copy the contents of a cell from one workbook to another

How do I copy the contents of a cell from one workbook to another (as a
formula)? I tried '=[workbook name]worksheet name!cell name' but that
doesn't seem to work

Start by selecting the cell where you want to 'copy' the other cell to. Type
an equal sign, press Ctrl-F6 until you get to the other workbook, and select
the cell you want. Press Enter
