Default pivot table - get the average of a field

I have a list with task codes and a "points" value associated to each code,
for a number of people, for every day of the month. People is split in
several regionals

I created a pivot table with the sum of points (field) for each people
(rows) for every day (columns), for every regional. The column's total gives
me the total number of points per day, per regional. Is there a way of
getting the average number of points per day, per regional (not per people)
using the same table?

Summarizing the points field using the average function does not work, as
the total would gives me the average points per person, and not per regional.

Hope it is clear...
