=MID(A1,6,4) - i get the answer 5678
Does your formula in the spreadsheet have anything else contaoied within it. You may also want to check manual and automatic calculation settings Thanks Maria wrote: The results of a MID function is the formula, not the requested text. For example Col A1 = 1234.5678 Col B1 displays "=MID(A1,6,4)", not "5678" I have tried several cell formats but cannot get it to display properly.
