Default Help on Formula-

I am working on a formula in an audit worksheet. I cannot figure this out.
The main trouble point is that the number of patients audited are always
different. There is a cell, call it b39, with the number of patients audited,
so I put 5 in that cell for 5 patients.

Then every no answer, itis 2 points off of a possible 10 points (5 patients
* 2 points). This is connected to another cell that tells the number of
patients that got a "no" answer. So the formula I need is if 5 patients, and
the number of points deducted are 2, then this has to translate to 1 patient.
If 5 patients, and 4 points deducted, this has to translate to 2 patients.
If 20 patients and 20 points deducted, this has to translate to 10 patients
with deductions, etc. There can be anywhere from 5-20 pts.

Please let me know if this does not make sense and I will do what I can for
help.

Thanks.

Paula,

Perhaps I'm oversimplifying it, but

=CellWithPointsDeducted/2

so, it Cell D39 has 4 for 4 points off, then
=D39/2

will give you 2....

?
