Default find average of values from multiple sheets?

how can i find average of values to a field present in 10 different sheets of
the same workbook. the fields may or may not be located in the same cell
position, so a lookup before average is necessary.

thanks in advance for all help.

Default find average of values from multiple sheets?

To do an average of cells on 10 different sheets, use something like:
=(sheet1!a2+sheet2!a5+sheet3!d7+...+sheet10!d87)/10

It's unclear what you mean by "a lookup before average is necessary". If you
need more help, post back.

Regards,
Fred.
