Default 255 Characters

I have 2007 Office and am running into the 255 character block all of the
time which was very annoying in 2003.
Is there a way round these 255 Char or do I just need to wait for Office
2010...?

For both 2003 and 2007 column width is 255 characters; however total number
of characters a cell can contain is 32,767. Only 1,024 is displayed in a cell
and all 32,767 characters are display in the formula bar.

Thanks for that Jacob,
When I am using a lookup and have selected say column A:D it returns the 255
Char column notice so I shut down the main spreadsheet and re-opened and now
it works. So who knows but thank you for the info below.

If the sending workbook is closed, you'll only see 255 characters (after a
recalc).

That's the way windows and excel work.

Open the sending workbook (in the same instance) and you'll see all the
characters.
