Default in excel, pressing shift+ctrl+arrow no longer works? any idea why

these keys have worked in the past. Could it be that I turned it off via
some option inadvertently? your help is greatly appreciated.

In Excel 2003: Tools | Options; open Transition tab and unselect "Transition
Navigation keys"

In Excel 2007: Office button | Excel Options; open Advance tab; locate Lotus
Compatibility area lower down and unselect "Transition Navigation keys"

best wishes
