Default Highlight a row with the current date.

Hi, this problem should be easy, but I can't get it to work

Colum A10 as a date, with the month and year for the next two years listed.

I have the current datein A1, using today() forumla.

What I would like to do is highlight the row starting from A10 with as the
current date in it.

Tried conditonal formatting as follows
Selected the rows I want to be highlighted with the date.That would be say
A10 through to A60.
Selected Conditional formatting, then formula is
Then entered say =$A1=today()

But this does not work.
Where am I going wrong, can someone help me please.
Thanks
