here is my problem and i'm not sure which functions will get me the answer
that i need! # of persons: 20 Each person can have 1 item from each Category: Category 1 Atk Def Item 1 30 30 Item 2 39 14 Category 2 Atk Def Item 1 15 43 Item 2 8 56 Category 3 Atk Def Item 1 25 42 Item 2 55 26 So I need to know a way to calculate the best possible combination, it could be different amounts of both Item 1 and Item 2 in each category or all of Item 1 in one category, all Item 2 in another category etc. How would I calculate this please? |

You don't define "Atk" or "Def" and you don't explain what constitutes the
"best possible combination". Provide some examples, with explanations, of how you would do this manually (without Excel). Don't understand what you mean by "the best possible combination"
Perhaps something along the lines of this past sample from my archives might give you some hints on modelling your construct: http://savefile.com/files/492539 Simulation_play_using_Data_Table_for_optimal_lineu p_Minimization.xls p/s: The underlying objective is certainly not something that you can drive out with one expression -- Max Singapore http://savefile.com/projects/236895 Downloads:27,000 Files:200 Subscribers:70 xdemechanik --- "ivory_kitten" wrote: here is my problem and i'm not sure which functions will get me the answer that i need! |
