Excel Function
Try this. Enter the values
A1 = 1 A2 = 2 A3 = 3 Enter 333 in a separate cell. Copy. Select A1:A3. Right click Paste Special. Multiply and OK. If this post helps click Yes --------------- Jacob Skaria "Lisa at UD" wrote: I would like to be able to enter a number in a cell, and have that number multiply itself by 333 |

Excel Function
The usual approach is to use two cells (after all, they are cheap). You
enter data in A1 and in another cell insert: =A1*333 However, if you really like the automultiply idea for some cell, say B9, enter the following event macro in the worksheet code area: Private Sub Worksheet_Change(ByVal Target As Range) Set t = Target If Intersect(t, Range("B9")) Is Nothing Then Exit Sub Application.EnableEvents = False t.Value = 333 * t.Value Application.EnableEvents = True End Sub Anything you type in cell B9 will automatically mulitply itself by 333. Because it is worksheet code, it is very easy to install and use: 1. right-click the tab name near the bottom of the window 2. select View Code - this brings up a VBE window 3. paste the stuff in and close the VBE window If you save the workbook, the macro will be saved with it. To remove the macro: 1. bring up the VBE windows as above 2. clear the code out 3. close the VBE window To learn more about macros in general, see: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/getstarted.htm To learn more about Event Macros (worksheet code), see: http://www.mvps.org/dmcritchie/excel/event.htm -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200850 "Lisa at UD" wrote: I would like to be able to enter a number in a cell, and have that number multiply itself by 333 |
