Default Math Functions Not Working Properly

I've just noticed that none of my functions are working properly. For
instance, if i insert the numbers 1(cell A1) and 10(cell B1) in adjacent
cells and use a third adjacent cell (cell C1) to give the product of those
too (=A1*B1). The output for cell C1 is 10 obviously. Now if I insert the
numbers 2 to 5 in cells A2 to A5 respectively, and change the formula in C1
to =A1*$B$1, and drag it down to C5, then C2 to C5 should output 20, 30, 40,
50. My output is still 10 even though the formula bar for say cell C3 shows
=A3*$B$1 or =3*10. Is this some sort of virus, or do I have a default
setting changed?? Please help!

It sounds like your Automatic Calculations are off. Click Tools/Options on
Excel's menu bar, click the Calculation tab... make sure Automatic is
selected in the Calculation section.
