formulas do not work
Look I am new to Excel so I will try to explain my problem on the example.
I have 1 big spreadsheet called "company" (where I keep all expenses like diesel, wages etc..) and I extracted one of the worksheet called "diesel" (used to calculate diesel expense for company) and saved that as seperate file but still linked to the main spreadsheet. Both files worked perfectly, when I updated diesel file authomatically other "company" file was updating diesel values. Problem has started when I copied "diesel" file to other computer. The reason I did it, was to copy that little "diesel" file to other computer to be able to work on it independently from the main computer and main s/sheet "company". When the file "diesel" was updated on other computer I copied it back to the main computer .When I looked at "company" file I noticed that my diesel values are not updated. Now I have to change every diesel value manually. When I want to copy formula from one cell to the other it brings me to file menu , i have to go to My Documents , double click on "diesel" file and then I have the right formula in the cell. But I have to do it with every single cell in the file. What's going on ? Is there any simple way to update the formulas in the cells ?Tha, Hanna |

formulas do not work
Hi,
Instead of copying the file to another computer, do "SAVE AS" & save the file where ever you want it will work fine. Bye. formulas do not work
Thanks Rodriques for your reply but this is not the point. I do not want to
save it and I do not want to copy it to another computer. the problem is that 2 files are linked together and before when I entered any details in file A , these details were authomatically transferred/copied and updated to file B. Now It is not happenning, details from file A are not transferred/copied to file B. When I put in some figures in file A, they are not appearing in file B. To make them appear I need to go to every cell where the amount suppose to appear and change/update the formula manually. Is the link between these 2 files broken or is there any other problem and how I can fix it please ?
