Relocating info using Data Validation
Is there a formula that will allow me to put the data validation arrow in one
cell (that is already populated) and show the selected item from the drop down list in another cell? Therefore, the original (populated) cell containing the drop down list remains unchanged. |

Hi Mr G
umm, not easily .. firstly, the cell with the data / validation list would have to "allow" the value that was typed into the cell ... and then you run into the problem that somehow you have to be able to store the value the cell is populated with somewhere, so then when an option is selected from the list it can be copied where it needs to go and the cell put back to what it was before. if the value of the cell was static (ie said something like, "click here") then it would be easier than if there was a possibility of the cell's "populated" value changing ... but as i said, it would still have to be "allowed" by data validation .... -- Cheers JulieD check out www.hcts.net.au/tipsandtricks.htm ....well i'm working on it anyway "Mr. G." wrote in message ...
