Default Formula shows up as text in cell

When I type a formula in the formula bar, the cell displays the text of the
formula, not the result. What happened?

Hi,

Ensure that the cell is not formatted as text. Go to Format Cells
General. Another possibility could be that you have accidentally pressed
Ctrl+~. Press that combination again to exit the formula auditing mode.
