For some reason the original post isn't showing in Google Groups, so
I'll have to reply to Glenn's. If every contact has an email address, then perhaps you could use something like this: =SUMPRODUCT(--(LEN(E1:E100)-LEN(SUBSTITUTE(E1:E100,"@","")))) assuming email addresses are in column E, with maybe more than one per cell.
