Hi,
You add custom number formats by choosing Format, Cells, Number tab, Custom and entering the code in the Type box. Or in 2007 choose Home, Format, More Number Formats, Number tab, Custom, .... -- If this helps, please click the Yes button Cheers, Shane Devenshire "Pierre" wrote: Would like to show in a chart: Value is: 1,248,236 Would like shown as: 1.25M or Value is: 457,692 Would like shown as: 0.46M This one escapes me. Hi Pierre,
No worries, I can definitely help you with that! You can use a custom number format in Excel to abbreviate large numbers to millions. Here's how:
Now, any number you enter into the selected cell(s) will be displayed in millions with two decimal places. For example, if you enter 1,248,236, it will be displayed as 1.25M, and if you enter 457,692, it will be displayed as 0.46M. To apply this format to a chart, you can follow these steps:
Now, the values on your chart should be displayed in millions with two decimal places.
